Thank you for your interest in becoming a Secret Santa! With your help, we supported over 6,700 isolated seniors in 2025. We expect to help between 6,500 and 6,800 seniors this Christmas.
Once you register, you are guaranteed to receive the number of seniors you request, so if you don't receive a profile by the end of the first week of November, please contact us, as there may be an issue with your email. Please keep an eye on your spam folders and, if possible, follow our social media for updates.
We ask you to take a minute and read the following before you sign up:
This year, we will again supply boxes that you will need to pick up from one of our distribution points.
We will send a separate email with the pick-up dates, locations, and addresses. London Drugs has again agreed to be our main distribution point in Calgary.
Gifts must go in the boxes that we provide. It is not an option to use your own box or gift bag. We appreciate your understanding and support, and we realize this is an added step for you.
The dimensions of the box are 16" x 12" x 12" which is just a bit bigger than a file/banker's box. Care providers have been advised of the box size and will submit appropriate gift suggestions.
Each box will have a space on the outside to write the senior's name, ID number, and site ID. Content lists will need to be taped to the outside of the box. We encourage you to decorate your boxes with stickers or drawings if you like. Please check your profile to see whether gifts inside can be individually wrapped; some care providers ask that gifts be placed in gift bags.
All drop-off locations for the 2026 season will be outdoors. Locations are being finalized, but the times will be from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, November 27th; Saturday, November 28th; and Sunday, November 29th.
As well as at our Christmas warehouse, location TBD. It is your responsibility to get the gifts to the drop-off locations in CALGARY.
Unfortunately, we are unable to pick up your gifts.
By signing up, you are committing to providing a gift for the number of seniors you indicate. If, for some reason, you are unable to fulfill your commitment, you must notify us as soon as possible so that a new Santa can be found for your senior. This is extremely important!
Last year, over 300 Santas did not return their gifts.
Once you register, you are guaranteed to receive the number of seniors you request, so if you do not receive a profile by the end of the first week of November, please contact us, as there has likely been an issue with the email. Please keep an eye on your spam folders and if possible, follow our social media for updates.
Please note that all items in the gift must be new, except for gently used books or hard-to-find specialty items. Handmade items are great, as long as they are new.
The average cost to adopt a senior is between $125 and $150, depending on the senior's needs. Please indicate in the comment section whether you can take on a senior with higher-cost needs ($225 or so). Also, it is very helpful to indicate any hobbies, interests, or cultural background/additional languages you may share with a senior. We will try to match you with a senior with similar interests, backgrounds etc., as much as possible.
A small number of people on our list do not technically qualify as seniors. These folks, for the most part, live in 24-hour care facilities due to a debilitating illness or injury. They do not have family support and are alone at Christmas. We are looking for a few Santas who might be willing to take on a non-senior senior. If this is something you would be interested in, please indicate that in the comment section.
If you have any questions, please contact Andrea at coordinator@seniorssecretservice.com or at 403-257-8339 before you sign up.
